As I write I have two days left in Copford. Still the whole thing seems slightly unreal. I am excited by the thought of the work involved in the transition, but will be glad now to “be there”- as I will indeed be as you read this!!

I have taken one load of furniture over to the Island and I know that all is well and how lovely and homely the Vicarage already looks with my goods therein. I thank God again that this is His plan for me. The neighbours I have met have all been very welcoming and one is even happy to continue to mow the lawns for me. They have a six months old Springer Spaniel, whom it seems I may be able to borrow to walk and get fit with on the hills around my new home.

Thank you once again for all that you have all done to make my time with you so very special, happy and rewarding. The farewells were all lovely and I thank you especially for the generosity of the gifts that I was given. Each of them will remind me of the happy days we spent together and the warmth, love and sincerity of your friendship.

My phone numbers are settled, the Vicarage is 01624 861989 – remember it is “good to talk” and, for those of you who like to text, the mobile will be 07624 411989. I am still not sure about emails, try sending to jo@jdudley.plus.com as usual and I will acknowledge if I receive it.

So the past is now history, the future remains a mystery, but we know that God has plans for all of us. I do hope that all of you will enjoy each day as it comes and be aware that “now” is a real gift from God and that is why it is called “the present”. You will always all have a place in my heart and a welcome awaits you in my new home.
