Bible Study groups, meeting in the warmth of people’s homes, enable us to learn from each other and support each other as we grow in knowledge of our faith. They also enable us to get to know each other better than is possible within the context of the congregation.

In 2006 our four housegroups started off studying the well-regarded Emmaus Bible Study Course. The first session was a ‘Nurture’ course ‘What Christians believe.’ This enabled us to explore the fundamentals of the Christian faith. In the following three years we continued to use the Emmaus course ‘Growing as a Christian.’ We then moved on to study the “I am” sayings of Jesus in St. John’s gospel. Then we looked at the lives of the prophet Samuel, King Saul and King David.  In 2011 we considered “Snapshots from the Life of Christ” as revealed by St. Matthew

In 2012 we are studying aspects of Jesus’ life in St. Mark gospel.

If you have never tried bible study then do please consider attending a session. Please be assured that you do not need to have attended any of the previous sessions. You may also be pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere of a small house group, where each member can contribute as little or as much as they wish. You may well find you will want to return!

We meet fortnightly on:-

                     Tuesdays,              8.00pm at 110 Maldon Road (hosts Julian and Marion Wyncoll);
                     Wednesdays,        10.30am at 44 Anchor Road (hosts Roger and Daphne Hoare);
                     Thursdays,             8.00pm at 33 Caxton Close (host Elaine Randall);
                     Fridays,                  2.30pm at 27 Elwin Road (hosts Bernard and Dorothy Lawrence).

The dates are the weeks beginning 15th April (Perfect Sacrifice); 29th April (Effective Trainer); 13th May (Compassionate Healer) [note: the meeting at 44 Anchor Road will take place on 23rd May, not 16th May] and 27th May (Unfettered Traveller) . If you haven’t been before do try one. Please join us if you can.

If you would like to know more about our House Groups then please speak to any of the leaders: Sue Copsey, Roger Hoare, Frank Le Poidevin and David Turner.
