Dear Friends,
Autumn Greetings from the land of morning calm. Now the chill autumn air’s penetrating into my sleeves smoothly here in this country and I know that the time for harvest is near at hand, this time is also a good time for meditation and reflection before the Lord to enrich our spiritual journey.
Recently I was invited to their annual retreat by Mission of St Benedict in Busan. This mission is organised by people from overseas countries such as America, Kenya, New Zealand, Uganda
and South Africa, working in Korea. They have regular Sunday Eucharist in English celebrated by a Kenyan priest and retreat at the Anglican Benedictine Convent.
I gave a PowerPoint presentation on the history of Anglican mission in Korea and various activities of missionaries for the Korean people. At the end of the session, I paid my tribute to the missionaries by playing the Irish whistle, “Be Thou My Vision.”
Last week I received a guest, Ms Vanya Walker-Leigh. She’s a British Anglican TSSF. She is a journalist on Malta Island, and she covered the World Organic Agriculture Congress 28-1 October and 4 and 5 October at the Global Green Growth Institute in Seoul.
During her visit I introduced her to Holy Cross sisters and Seoul Cathedral. We had good talks on global climate change and her Franciscan life. The aim of her lecture and activities is to awaken an interest in, and understanding of, the environmental issues through media and participation in Christian Environmental Conferences as an Ecumenical guest.
May God bless you. Rest assured that you’re kept in my prayer and love.
Yours in Christ,
Francis Cho +
