The St Luke’s Ladies Group (formerly known as the Young Wives) celebrated its 30th year anniversary in 2002. The group changed its name in 1992 to reflect the widening age range within the group. This is a social, non-profit making church group solely for the entertainment, enjoyment and companionship of its members with all monies raised being donated to various charities, and also towards church and village life.

The St Luke’s Ladies group meet once a month on the 3rd Thursday in St Luke’s Extension at 8.00pm. Admission is £2.00 which includes door raffle and refreshments. The attendance averages 70 ladies but has on occasion reached 100. This group is open to all ladies including non-churchgoers. The group supports all church events that are put on.

The meetings have a varied range of speakers that inform and entertain. During the year fundraising stalls and events are held to raise more money for the groups charities.

The social side is extended with many outings during the year including London and local shows, theatre visits, days out to various places and river trips. These are often open to ladies’ families and friends.
